Got this gen pencilled in for May. Something thing like..
Day 1: Aviemore to Tomintoul
Day 2: Tomintoul to Braemar
Day 3: Braemar to Blair Atholl
Day 4: Blair Atholl to Aviemore
So, anyone got any useful info on places to stay? I don't need a butler to wipe my bottom, just a decent bed and some food, so B&B's/reasonable hotels, whatever really. Need to be bike friendly (i.e. secure lock up, and no funny looks if we turn up in mud-spattered lycra).

proper, nice hotel with a good public bar (even the locals drink there). Good breakfasts!
aviemore, braemar and blair atholl all have independant hostels.
£15 a night. and all nice.
