For me with right gear on its the best time of the year. All the foliage had died and some of the most fun trails are fast again.

I was planning to go out this morning before work, but at 1am my 2 year old decided that he wanted to come into our bed, so i spent the rest of the night being kicked and generally kept awake. ๐Ÿ™

It looks amazing.... sadly... my bike has no rear brake... and forks that don't fit...

Option 2 is the road bike on icy frosty roads.... that won't be happening...

It is (was) lovely out there. Got out just after sun up. Two hours on frozen ground, best conditions for ages. Just starting to thaw as I got back. Feet still not thawed though.

Mendip did not freeze but since it has not rained for a few days was actually fun with judicious trail choice

Fat Bike ride yesterday for Gloal Fat Bike Ride day

34 flat MTB miles this morning with patches of black ice after a bit of rain first thing this morning made it a bit interesting. Ten minutes in the shower to warm my bones back up.

Nope, the trails weren't fast. Nothing has frozen here, so the trails are just as sloppy as they were last month but they now they've got the added delight of 3" of fallen leaves over them and almost freezing temperatures. 2 hours of the crappiest riding I've done for weeks where I was expecting a blue sky, crisp morning on hard trails. Not happy! Oh and it's raining again. ๐Ÿ™

Just got back. Really love days like this - sunny, hardly a breath of wind, cold but fresh.

Trails were generally fast and hard but still pretty sloppy in places. Nothing quite like the sting of freezing cold mud on exposed calves to spur you on. ๐Ÿ˜€

Just back in, and generally speaking the trails were quick today (save the slow rider in my group!).

First ride in a long time I've not been covered in gloop, took a while to warm up though...

I had a great time out this morning, perfect conditions for mtbing, out before sun up, nothing like the sun peaking out when you're already an hour in. Ended up doing just over 40 miles, mixture of bridleways & cheeky bits connected by bits of road. Back in time to take my toddler daughter swimming & now have some lamb a'roasting with a glass of Jamesons while I prep the veg, Sundays rule!
