1800 lumens self contained light wonder if I should add this to the line up .

[IMG] [/IMG]

at the moment the proto is 420 grams but can lose a bit of that as it is bomp proof at the moment

Only 4 XPGs but at full whack so on paper lumens of 1840

Lighter and smaller than the Exposure 6 pack yes its a bit plain and ugly but it is used in the dark so who cares .

Needs a bit of fine tuning

the maths say 2 hours on full

Gawd knows on Med and low cos I dont yet .

I`m sure a beam shot will be along some time

I was thinking along the same lines but mine was slung under the stem in front of the head tube, rotated 90 degrees with the XPGs mounted in the middle of one side of the battery casing.

I'd buy it if the price wasn't stupid.

I'd buy one in preference to your other lights - if I had even the slightest need for any more lights!

Put another way, the all-in-oneness appeals.

What is going on with the lights on those hills? It looks like Mordor or something.

Its the glow of Tandori ovens from bradford

It needs a bit of fine tuning in the beam probably 2 reflectors and a couple of wider optics as there is a very sharp cutoff at the beam sides though that is probably good for the road.
but not so good for offroad but that is a simple swop .

£200 would be a killer 1800 lumen light along side the Exposure 6 pack

MM food for thought there will go and see my machinist friend as I refuse to stand in my unheated garage knocking housings out on the Mill .

Be interested if the price is right as i'd much rather have an all in one unit.

Rather than start yet another thread, here's an 8 XPG helmet light I put together and tried out last week. Yes I know those screws look naff and it needs more waterproofing, but that's WIP and for now the brightness is fantastic. Uses double sided Velcro to loop through the helmet slots and those side pieces.

Batteries are 5 Nokia Lithium from 7dayshop and the case is from Maplin.

Brightness is tweaked such that a full charge lasts 2 hours. Something like 1500 Lumens.

Oh and I've got a 12000 Lumen fan cooled leviathan planned as soon as the new Cree XM LEDs arrive 😮

Just to show I'm not making this up as I go along, here are some of the components. Its got a miniature blower (kick ass fan) to shift the heat.

I suppose at 100 x 100 x 30mm it could just about be helmet mountable with a back pocket battery and a spare on the frame. Leave it with me.
