My fork has a variable platform damper and a very linear stroke.

Can I use the damper full time to prop the fork up and stop it diving on braking and cornering or will affect the reliability? It seems to work but I don't know if I'm breaking it.. It seems plusher doing this than just running a higher pressure in the airspring..

apart from a broken dropout (not related) its how they are suggested to be set up. I run the albert select on all the time (Except climbing) with about 1/2-3/4 of a turn of the gold knob. Props it up and doesn't blow through the linear travel as quick

You can do this but it can cost you some small bump sensitivity. Plus the fork rides higher, which I find annoying on climbs. You won't do any harm to the fork unless you run the platform on full and smack into big stuff (which it doesn't sound like you will)

An alternative is to put thicker oil in the damping chamber as this effectively increases the (non-adjustable) low speed compression damping.

I changed the 5wt in my magura laurins to 15wt and it turned them into the fantastic forks they should have been. You can also put more oil in the air chamber to increase 'ramp-up' at the end of the stroke.

FYI ROFL- apparently the trick with the Thor is to empty all air, cycle the travel adjust, then refill but compress the fork every 5 strokes with the shock pump. This ensures pos and neg chambers are correctly pressured and stops the dive. I read this on the magura website. Not sure if it'll help you.

I'll try the oil change at first service but until then it's Albert on 2 clicks out from minimum which was working well for me today.

Good forks by the way!
