Hi

I have a set of 1 degree angle reducer 1.5" cups, unused, that came with my Scott Voltage FR710

I want to fit the angle reducer headset into a different frame, a 2010 Intense Tracer VP, to slacken it by 1 degree.

Both frames have a straight 1.5" headtube (Not tapered)

Both frames have a headtube length of roughly 115mm
(Maybe 1 or 2mm difference)

Theoretically it should fit ok & work ok or are there any problems I may come across?

Thanks in advance for any help

If length of HT is within 5 mm and the cups fit then should be no issues at all. I have swapped 2 different headset slacksets between 2 completely different frames before now.

That's what I was hoping to hear, thanks.

The issue of whether the cups will fit is a bit puzzling for me.
Both frames have a straight (what used to be called) 1.5" headtube
But here we are in the future & there seem to be all sorts of zx/44/55/zxspectrum/49.57/55.9 dimensions to confuse me.

Am i being naive in thinking that a 1.5" headtube is just 1.5"?

And that the cups from one 1.5" straight headtube will fit in another 1.5" straight headtube, as it was called in 2010 when the frame was manufactured

They are external cups btw

There's been quite a few standards but if it fits, it fits- if you don't have a set of cheap digital calipers get some, they're super useful and it'll tell you with certainty exactly what you have.

I'm just a wee bit nervous of using the Scott parts- they might very well be pretty generic, but they were designed for a particular job and might not work for other things.
