Schleck has to go for it so I reckon he and AC will be out front knocking seven shades of you know what out of eachother. Impossible to say who'll win though I'm not sure that Schleck will be able to open a big enough gap even if he does get away.

schleck needs a minute to a minute and a half before the time trial to have a chance. Whether he tries today or waits to the tourmalet not sure, but i think to leave it to the tourmalet could be risky. Contador knows shleck has no choice and will be watching him.

BTW - does anyone have a link that shows the points available for intermediary sprints and finish in each stage for each position?

He could make top 10 I reckon if he can avoid losing more time to the others (not ac/as as they're in a class of their own)

"It was a case of recovering through the Alps; I'm two minutes off ninth place today and I can get two minutes on most of the guys in the last 50km time trial."

really?

Yes! So long as he's recovering well.

I think Cav might go off the front today with a few others to get the first sprint. probably wrong, but we'll see. I also think Armstrong is going to go for the stage win. again probably wrong, but we'll see!

At least that much. 3 minutes to be comfortable.
This is the first of 3 hard days, then there's a rest day then 1 more Pyrenees, I think it'll whittle the bunch down quite substantially but maybe the real fireworks will wait until tomorrow.

Nice to see a groups fighting it out without the crowds closing down the space.

I wish the police would get the crowds back man.

Menchov & Sanchez the winners today.
