It was excellent.

Enjoyed Jason's BMX thing and 25 Years of Chipps too. To be honest I don't read the bike reviews as I won't be buying a bike in the near future, so articles like these are what keep me reading the mag.

Thanks, chaps – it's always nice to hear feedback on what you've written. This was one of those stories that got rattled off quite quickly; it's actually an extension of an instagram post I put up and Hannah spotted. Looking forward to getting a copy of the mag and seeing how it turned out.

Enjoyed the Rickie Cotter Kyrgyzstan piece too.

It came out really well Tom, well done (it made me wonder about buying one!!)

I liked the BMX article and the Chipps long service award too

It's a bit weird when you realise you're one of the 500 subscribers mentioned in Chips piece and then you remember he once interviewed you for a job on the short-lived Future title Total Bike. And, yes, I'm still involved in the bike trade, albeit on a casual freelance basis these days.

Me too - seems like a lifetime ago. Still hanging in there as a (digital) subscriber, though just now is the first time in many issues that I've bothered downloading the pdf to read an article.

nicely worded Tom. Had to pause at a few points..

I guess I'd be one of the 500 or so -- my memory is picking up two boxes of mags from Mark, en route to a work exhibition in London, then dropping off one box in Ambleside on way back, and then hawking the remaining copies round bike shops and assorted other locations in Edinburgh and Glentress.

I enjoyed it too. Had mine for about 18 years now and use it every day for work.

Only rarely used as a bike bag though...

Yes I really enjoyed it too, and love that you share these memories of Jenn, I miss her writing a lot. Writing this while looking at my Timbuk2 bag hanging on the back of the door it's done over 20 years of service now .. really where does the time go. Also one of those original subscribers *waves*

I remember signing up at the Bike Show at the NEC. I had issue 1 - not sure if that’s first 500 territory.
