Has anyone used Winston Vaz for reconditioning a steel frame?
I remember seeing his ad years ago in cycling weekly
Any other recommendations without 6 months waiting list or sky high prices ?

He replaced the TT on my CR Dogs Bolx a few years ago after a high speed brake lever / frame interface. When it was refinished, couldn't tell it'd been done.

Would go back if broke it again.

I was reading that he was a frame builder at Chas Roberts for years so must know his stuff, it's my old White Spider needs a wee repair and a good paint job, don't want to powder coat it

Yes, that's him. He remembered my frame from the first time around.

He has, or did when I visited, a painting workshop upstairs and can take you through options. One key point for me was today's paint isnt as durable as those my frame was originally finished in. So went for a metallic gloss powder coat finish via a another Co. given the frame would continue to be used heavily.
