I've recently got a Boardman CX bike which has SRAM Apex shifters. Comparing them to the 105 shifters on my road bike, the action seems quite heavy. Is this normal or do I need to investigate further ?

SRAM Rival has a slightly heavier feel than the 105 on my CX bike. Not noticeable mind you. Lever on Rival are carbon, not sure if that has any impact on the feel.
I put it down to the lever having only one cable pull direction and the 105 having two levers to do the same job.

I think I'll go to Halfords and try a few of the display bikes. If mine is much heavier they can sort it out. Just doesn't feel right to me for a new bike.
