So I’m stumped (pun intended as you’ll see later!) and I’m hoping someone can suggest some checks I haven’t thought of or point me in the direction of a fix
issue - chain falls off front chainring when in gear 1 (50T) or 2. It looks like the chainring is too far outboard
bike - my mates Specialized stumpjumper Evo alloy 2023
How did I get here?
I swapped the original, old rear wheel and cassette for a Stans Flow mk4 with Hope Pro5 hub (XD) and took off the sram 12x cassette (the one that comes apart in lots of pieces) with an XG-1295 cassette and the NX mech with a new GX AXS mech
Cranks are NX with 3mm offset chainring
BB is sram dub with 4.5mm DS spacer
Hub and frame are 148mm boost
(wheels were previously on my orange stage Evo running an XG-1299 cassette and X01 AXS)
I tried a 2mm spacer behind the cassette and that “works” but obviously not going to keep it like that
So I’m stumped as when it’s set up as it should be the chain falls off the chainring (pulled towards the bike) as if I’m trying to run a 6mm offset chainring or have a 49mm chain line
any thoughts?!
