I had a GXP chainset in the garage and needed to get one bike up and running to stop me going mad.
I grabbed a new GXP BB from edinburghcycles (22.04 - cheap enough)
Got the cranks fitted, but it doesn't feel like they are all the way in. There is about 5mm between the crank and the BB.
I did up the other arm. It started to come loose about a mile into my ride. Did it up again and now it's stuck on.
Should the crank of engaged right up to the BB or should there be a gap.
I know they are crap, stylos' but it's what i had spare.
Should be a gap, the bolt tightens the crank up against the non-drive side bearing and the step on the axle, the drive side is free to float in it's bearing, this prevents it being pre-loaded and destroying the BB(something GXP's are pretty adept at anyway).
