I've got a bike to work on this weekend, part of which is fitting a new/used crankset. It's a Shimano Octalink one with matching BB.
The length we have is a 118mm axle, now IIRC that's a pretty standard size yes? Is that gonna work?
Thanks muchly! 🙂
Archive section on the Spesh site is excellent

Find the year and model and the info will be there
Peter,
Shimano used 113 or 118 for most of the octalink sets, see Sheldon Brown for gruppo differences.
The only variable left is the shell size of the frame, as octalink BBs are not sold as 73-with-a-spacer packages.

Pfft. Ignore me. It's on the Spesh site, yes I was right. 🙂
Sorry 😳
Thanks everyone. I posted the thread and then thought "Ohh, I wonder if it's on the spec list on the Spesh site"
Which it is.
🙂
