Hey folks. im wanting to replace the cable on my command post. its not returning properly and the 90 degree noodle at the lever end has snapped. Has anyone done this job, and also, is the noodle at the lever end necessary? 😕

It's straightforward, but you either need the bespoke cable or, if you are good with your hands you can make one from a gear cable. You do need the noodle or the cable will east into the lever housing.

Setting the cable tension correctly is important, if anything set it too slack initially then tension it just enough to allow it to operate.

Have fun!

First thing i did when i got mine, second hand, was to replace the cable as the previous owner was even more useless at bike maintenance than me and the cable had seized in the big loop below the seat. I used a good quality road gear cable as it was a tiny bit narrower than a bog standard mtb cable.

I think i got lucky with the tension as it was spot on first go but i'd recommend a good dollop of grease at the seat end of the cable to help prevent water getting in and as said, you'll need the noodle.

Just resurecting this thread..I want to replace my cable, not sure what to replace it with. I thought id snapped the noodle but theres a length of black plastic about 15mm at the end of the noodle, this is the bit that has snapped. I have read on other sites about people doing away with the noodle and it worked better.. 😕
