Cypress Hill.

still listen to their stuff more often than the rest of my music collection (not just hip hop) put together.

Hits from the bong is 3 minutes of perfection.

Which as a 40yr old white copper is as incongruous as

Ooh. Good one!

I'll go with the Wildhearts, as they've got a fantastic back catalogue and a bit of variety, and I'm pretty sure I've listened to them more than any other band.

Artist... Regina Spektor I think.

Obviously tomorrow i'd name 2 different acts 😉

Desert Island Discs for STW 😀

Band: Old Crow Medicine Show

Artist: Neil Young

Why? OCMS have an amazing line up and their live show is every bit as good as their recordings, which is a rarity.

Neil Young just covers so much ground. Sometimes I'll stick on one of his albums and wash the dishes. 20 minutes later I can't remember a single song. Sometimes I'll listen to an album whilst walking the dog and have to stop and wipe tears from my eyes 😳 Sad but true.

Already convinced the Mrs and kids that this is the law!!!
The Alarm / Mike Peters.
Winds my teenage daughters up when I catch them out singing along when they haven't realised, fourteen year old looked up in graphics last week to find the teacher and all the class staring at her singing along to 68 Guns on Rock FM.
Apparently background music helps?????

D-A-D, more properly known as Disneyland After Dark

Good sized back catalogue and they constantly evolve so a mix of styles depending on your mood

Oh, and they rock!

It'd need to be acts with a large but varied output, so maybe Yo La Tengo for band and Bowie for artist.

My iPod has already killed any possibility of listening to the same band forever because it keeps playing the same freakin tunes over and over and over gain on shuffle until I hate them and have to delete them and every other tune by the same artist.

Variety is the spice of life an' all that

So where are all the boring bastards who made Adele a best seller then?

I'd rather listen to Adele than many of the bands mentioned above.

Need clarification on the OP's question though: Does the band I choose play live for me? With dead members resurrected if need be?

Might go for The Stooges if so. Or the Velvets.

Seasick Steve is a funny one, absolutely loved seeing him live in the flesh and on TV, but didn't think the two albums i have lived up to seeing him live, felt a bit too polished.

If the answer to my question to OP was no, then for artist I'd choose PJ Harvey. .

I love the Poppies and think they're massively underrated, but I never even considered them as my one band for the rest of time.
