Artist: Ghostpoet - I'm still blown away by his first (and only) album.

Hits from the bong is 3 minutes of perfection.
Which as a 40yr old white copper is as incongruous as
Runrig
Holy F*ck
The wedding present
Or
The Fall.
pixies
nick drake
Ooh. Good one!
I'll go with the Wildhearts, as they've got a fantastic back catalogue and a bit of variety, and I'm pretty sure I've listened to them more than any other band.
Artist... Regina Spektor I think.
Obviously tomorrow i'd name 2 different acts 😉
Desert Island Discs for STW 😀
Band: Old Crow Medicine Show
Artist: Neil Young
Why? OCMS have an amazing line up and their live show is every bit as good as their recordings, which is a rarity.
Neil Young just covers so much ground. Sometimes I'll stick on one of his albums and wash the dishes. 20 minutes later I can't remember a single song. Sometimes I'll listen to an album whilst walking the dog and have to stop and wipe tears from my eyes 😳 Sad but true.
Pixies, Neil Young.
The Wedding Present are in town this weekend, but I don't know anybody who wants to go see them 🙁
Rage against the machine 😉
Kenny Loggins.
if i really had to choose :-
band - rush
artist - trent reznor
Band: Neil Ying and Crazy Horse. Artist: Neil Young. Actually, Led Zeppelin are all the band you'll ever need and more.
Elbow
Already convinced the Mrs and kids that this is the law!!!
The Alarm / Mike Peters.
Winds my teenage daughters up when I catch them out singing along when they haven't realised, fourteen year old looked up in graphics last week to find the teacher and all the class staring at her singing along to 68 Guns on Rock FM.
Apparently background music helps?????

Artist: Damien Rice.
Blur and Tori Amos
Band: British Sea Power
Artist: Elliot Smith
Bob Marley and the Wailers

Artist : Will Oldham
Glasvegas.
&
Ludovico Eienaudi.
The Wedding Present are in town this weekend, but I don't know anybody who wants to go see them
Go anyway.
I couldn't do it, if my choices were so restricted it would end up destroying my love for my favourite music.
D-A-D, more properly known as Disneyland After Dark
Good sized back catalogue and they constantly evolve so a mix of styles depending on your mood
Oh, and they rock!
Tough one but
Band - Pixies are clear winner for me but if I could sneak another it would probably be Katzenjammer

Artist - Steve Earle
Led Zep
Jack White
@crashtestmonkey - was listening to Cypress Hill on ride in to work this morning - class!
p.s. what a rare treat to post in the 'Bike' forum for a change.
It'd need to be acts with a large but varied output, so maybe Yo La Tengo for band and Bowie for artist.
Omar Rodriguez Lopez
The National are a very good call but I'd go with R.E.M. if I had to pick just one.
Band - Queens of the Stone Age.

Julian Cope or Robyn Hitchcock, can't decide.
Band - Yes
Artist - Neil Young
Hang on, no I mean
Band - [s]Pink Floyd[/s] Led Zeppelin
Damn these favourite threads. 😈
Can we listen to anything involving an artist, ie all his bands and collaborations?
Artist: Joshua M Homme
Band: Motörhead
Springsteen
Artiste: Van Morrison
Band: Joe Bonamassa
Band - Led Zeppelin
Artist - Bob Dylan
Both are essential listening for me
My iPod has already killed any possibility of listening to the same band forever because it keeps playing the same freakin tunes over and over and over gain on shuffle until I hate them and have to delete them and every other tune by the same artist.
Variety is the spice of life an' all that
band - The Allman Brothers Band
artist - Derek Trucks
So where are all the boring bastards who made Adele a best seller then?
So where are all the boring bastards who made Adele a best seller then?
I'd rather listen to Adele than many of the bands mentioned above.
Need clarification on the OP's question though: Does the band I choose play live for me? With dead members resurrected if need be?
Might go for The Stooges if so. Or the Velvets.
Band: AC/DC
Artist: Seasick Steve
Bob Dylan
Pink Floyd
The Walkmen
Johnny Cash
Seasick Steve is a funny one, absolutely loved seeing him live in the flesh and on TV, but didn't think the two albums i have lived up to seeing him live, felt a bit too polished.
everyone who said Led Zeppelin has passed the test. Congratulations.
ROlling Stones for the runners up.
New Model Army
[s]I'd rather listen to [/s]Adele weighs more than many of the bands mentioned above.
If the answer to my question to OP was no, then for artist I'd choose PJ Harvey. .
Pink Floyd (I'm in a Floyd mood today, tomorrow it might be Led Zep)
Rory Gallagher. Always, no deviations there.
Mike Patton
Band: Crippled Black Phoenix
Artist: PJ Harvey
Runrig
C'mon Druidh , stop trolling and take it seriously.
I think i could probably get by on The Beatles or The Eels for the rest of my days.
Vitalic
Band : the Beatles
Artist : Van Morrison
Aggghhhhh! too hard a question, my brain hurts even thinking about it...
Fugazi
Ian Mckaye

Band: Sonic Youth
Artist: Trent Reznor
65 Days of Static
without a doubt.
Radiohead
Warren Zevon
passtherizla - good call!
tough question - at 16, anthrax =) now, dunno... something classical (i'm assuming a composer counts for the artist?)
band - possibly PWEI - good mix of stuff - but will i still like def con one when i'm 75?
ach, metallica - i wont' be able to hear it when i'm 75 anyway =)
Band:Arcade Fire
Artist:Bob Dylan
I threw the former in to show I'm not stuck in a time warp with Dylan!
Bonnie 'Prince' Billy/Will Oldham/Palace/etc.
PJ a close second atm.
The Black Keys are curently rocking my world but that could coz they are fairly 'new' to me.
Band: U2
Artist: Neil Young
or The Crystal Method... for some trail tunes
Band - Death Cab For Cutie
Atist - Tom McRae
Massive Attack and Prince
band - possibly PWEI - good mix of stuff - but will i still like def con one when i'm 75?
I love the Poppies and think they're massively underrated, but I never even considered them as my one band for the rest of time.
You are way more grebo than me, I take my army surplus hat off to you.
Green Day
Johnny Cash
Radiohead
Nick Cave
