I'm hoping to get up to skye in the new year, and had a thought about varying the classic sligachan loop a bit. Would it be possible to ride down the glen to Camsunary, then go over to Elgol via the rode, or the coast (i seem to remember pics of the coastal path on here...), and then catch a boat to Loch Coriusk, and then head back to Sligachan on the obvious track on the map? Everyone loves a mid ride boat trip, and Loch Coriusk looks like one hell of a place, regardless of weather you have a bike with you. Many thanks
looking at google earth the path to elgol looks very faint to non existant in places and quite steep in bit. found one image of the track, http://www.panoramio.com/photo/47613917 I'd doubt it's all like that though.
The one from loch coriusk over looks non existant.
Never been up there but a lack of info on google earth would make me wary.
I've walked the circuit from Sligachan, over to Loch Coruisk, past the Bad Step to Camusanary and back to Sligachan. I reckon that's mostly worth taking a bike for, though the Bad Step might prove a bit of a handful.
Cheers guys. Yeah, the lack of much on google earth and geograph is what prompted the post really. This looks promising mind. I think a boat ride might be a good way of avoiding the Bad Step. That bit of rocked scarred me as a ten year old, I could happily not go back. So climbing out of Coriusk would be best you think Druidh?
I reckon the Druim Hain route would be worthwhile attempting
