[#3426871]

Had one of these knocking around the garage for ages, but it hasn't been usable on a single pair of forks I've owned...

Any alternatives for an expander type steerer tube fitting? No SFNs

(Hed Doctor is to big for the steerer ID)

Why's it not been useable on the forks - is it possible you're not fitting it right? I found the rubber O ring ended up being disposable, and without it the head doctor fit tightly but well.

There are other alternatives that run all the way through the headtube and secure at the bottom, but I can't for the life of me remember what they're called.

I used to use an XLite stem plug and it was great, I've also used Hed DR's too - got to say though you cant beat an SFN.

One of these but dont know who sells them now , a good alternative to Hope HD http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=293

1"1/8 steerer tube, but the tube wall is quite thick.

I normally used a SFN or (in the past) one of the XLite (Azionic?) threaded bar plus.

However, these forks have a carbon steerer (Sids) so I need an expander plug that will fit the blwdy steerer tube
