Reading the other thread on learning the basics, I'm thinking a skills course would be a great birthday present for me. Anyone know of any near Stockport, I'm willing to travel, free rail travel for me too so any near railway stations too.

Cheers.

NBT and his lovely wife (much nicer than he is*) has(had) a friend in Mellor who runs (ran) skills courses. Maybe drop Jules a line for more info?
*Is true.
Found some stuff via the Stockport Clarion website:

I booked Andrew from RideWithMee off a recommendation on here and he was great. Pretty sure he will meet you more or less anywhere -

Not sure Emmy does courses anymore. Very happy to be proved wrong though!

Alliance MTB would be a good shout. They run courses in the peak.

Farmer Johns scares me a lot, everything I hear about it sounds mental, yet chilled.

I travelled to Jedi from Oldham. It's worth a few hours in the car.

I've had a session with Ed Oxley (Great Rock) over Hebden way. I would recommend him.

Jedi is worth the journey but alliancemtb isn't too far away.
