Not trolling and this must have been done 1000s times but....

I built one up last week as a pub bike, old rigid Trek frame, just been out on it and wasn't sure if I'd like but it was ace.

Won't be ditching my other bikes but for a pub bike it was spot on.

😀

Bikes are ace especially if they make you smile

Good isn't it. I couldn't put my finger on why they feel so good to ride at first but I think it's the lack of noise and vibration from a geared setup. It's just so smooth. 😀
I think I could do with a 32:17 setup rather than 32:16 for riding in the pennines though. 🙂

After a Winter of 32:17 Inbred riding, my Ventana felt somewhat porky the other day. Counting down the weeks till I take the plunge & ditch FS for a geared HT as my "main" bike.

it's just good in some undefineable way. I really can't define why it's so good

haha I still can't decide whether to SS my DMR. It's my only bike so sort of feels like I'd be limiting myself too much, but been having so many gear hassles recently including 3 snapped chain incidents on Saturday 😡

My facial hair isn't thick enough for a proper beard!

Perfect pub bike. No worries if you forget about it at the end of the night. No thief would lower themselves to nick it would they.

Sounds like ideal territory for a "funny beard" then 🙂

Out on my SSed Carrera Fury today, climbed stuff I didn't think I would, died deaths on half dried clay based mud that had been chewed up by horses and still really enjoyed it. Not got the legs to have on as my only or even main bike but would swap the Fury frame for something with sliding dropouts or EBB in a heartbeat.

I was worried about how much hard work I thought it would be. Actually, its a breeze. Yeah you have to work sometimes, but you get loads of time to spin along and be 8 years old again.

I had a go on a singlespeed on Saturday when I ragged the rear mech off my Five. Could take it or leave it.
