Please can anyone who has used one tell me if it was fairly easy to use and the results were worth it?
yeah fairly easy to use although I had a problem downloading the app. You need a day or two of riding to get the most from it as it is setup, tweek, set up, tweek again, etc.
It is was worth it for me for the fork but not for the rear. ´More adjustment potential on the fork I guess.
Yes, it was easy to use although the first time I rode round on it for ages with no results only to find I hadn't screwed the connector on quite tight enough. If you're using it on multiple bikes (or just both ends on a full susser) then write down the number it gives you after calibrating to save having to do it every time you move it.
One bike it barely suggested any changes, one it had me make massive changes which were for the good.
Just be aware that it isn't compatible with some Manitou forks (as they connect the positive and negative chambers when a pump is connected) or anything using an MRP ramp control - there may be other things as well but I'm not sure.
It probably hasn't given me enough benefit to justify the cost as I'm only a fairly average rider but I do like gadgets
Oh, and it annoys me that the cable ties provided aren't quick release ones given that it is likely to get moved around. I replaced mine with velcro straps.
Yes and yes.
I made a few tweaks based on what it recommended but I think knowing the setup was the 'right one' was worth it.
I've fitted a new shock and fork now so will get it again and have another go once it's dried out a bit.
Our riding group did a group buy so it was about £30 each. I'm not sure £300 would be worth spending on it.
A bunch of us chipped in a got one. The consensus was those that had a decent idea of what they were doing or what they wanted their suspension to feel like didn’t gain much, those that had no idea got good base setting and changed quite a lot.
My personal experience was that it pretty much just said everything was fine. If something wasn’t fine, I rode it a little longer and then it was happy.
What worries me was a mate used it, it said his settings were well out, so he altered them. The thing was, he turned all the dials the opposite way to that which the device reccomended. After another ride the divice reported it was now happy with his settings.
Anyone know if there is anywhere near Buckinghamshire to hire one? Most shops on Google insist on collection. Those that do post them want twice the money.
I've recently got one and only a couple of rides in and am finding that it pretty much agrees with my settings (mostly been focusing on the fork so far). Maybe the odd click of rebound or high or low speed compression suggested, but this varies depending on what I have ridden. Going to ride it a bit more to see if there is any consistent trend before changing much. I might end up getting a more optimised suspension setup, or I might not like the suggested changes. The plus for me is having the reassurance that my settings are pretty much in the right area anyway. I can see other riders who don't really understand their suspension settings getting more out of it.
The app is pretty easy to use. Worth saving your sessions as profiles so you can refer back to the suggestions.
I've got one with a couple of mates, I've used it a lot. One thing I've realised is that you can tune a fork/shock for a specific trail, but on another trail it'll give bad results. The way I use it is to find a good example of DH etc and session it tuning the forks/shock, that tuned it for when I wanted the suspension to really perform. The rest of the time I used lockout etc so that it wasn't trying to tune for slow climb etc as I didn't want the compromise.
Does that make sense?

Please can you explain the best way to do this?
Depends on the ride though...it'll dial the settings for whatever it is riding. If you ride a different trail set up then it'll suggest other tweaks.
To save a session as a profile...
I first created a 'base line' profile for each fork and shock entering all the settings etc including the air compression ratio as determined through the calibration wizard.
Then after a ride / session go to the base line profile in the app and select copy, save the copy as a new profile, all the settings data will copy across, obviously you'll need to update any settings you have changed since creating (or editing) the baseline profile. Then in the new profile you select the option to download data from shockwiz (bottom right option when in the profile screen), this will ask if you want to overwrite the profile data, say yes and it will download the session data from the shockwiz. Save the profile and you will have access to all the recommendations and detections from that session.
Start a new session with the shockwiz, ride and repeat.
AAAhhhhhhh - Thank you Mark - that makes sense now - I just kept overwriting the original profile - maybe I should start to RTFM!
and if you have only one shockwiz and a full suspension bike, which would you tune first, shock or fork?
The official guidance is shock or fork first makes no difference.
I did a quick run on each to make sure both are in the right ball park. Then put it on the fork and focusing on that for a few rides to get a good range of riding and suggestions. Have made a couple of clicks adjustment on rebound and HSC and think it's pretty much there. Will switch over to the shock in another ride or two.
So, I’m basing mine on balanced/playful as all the adjustments/recommendations are pretty much the same, generally lakes riding so get a bit of everything climbs/rocky descents etc - but off to Antur Stiniog in the morning...would you really bother trying to set it up aggressive or just keep it playful and on the current profile, knowing that an uplift day is something I only do occasionally? I’m thinking just playful and tomorrow will just add to the data and give me a more accurate overall setting
(Excuse the no coherent rambling post, stood up and on mobile)
Has anyone who has used a shockwiz not liked the settings it ended up recommending?
