- what has he got for that (at 20 seconds)? Is a tyre lever or some special tool? I was trying to remove that seal and bearing yesterday but no luck... However I didn't force it with anything to avoid damage. It takes him a second to get them out though!
I need to order 14mm hex anyway (freehub...), so if it is some special kind of tool I'd add it to the basket too.
Tyre lever.
Looks to me like he just prised it out with a plastic tyre lever.
I'm not familiar with these sort of hubs, but I've serviced others with a similar design where this seal is a rubber-encased cirlip. You'd be able to spot two tiny holes in the moulding for the pliers to go into. Best to double check this.
It's just a pressfit rubber seal. Prise/lever it out with a flat head screwdriver.
As mentioned above. Pressfit rubber seal.
Did the overhaul twice. But wasn't convinced of the freehub design and had trouble with dirt creeping into the bearings from the drive side.
Really like the Shimano stuff - but not this rear hub design.
