[Closed] Shimano Tiagra X-Type bottom bracket - can it be serviced or is it a bin job?

Its got some muck in and is making a racket.

I also own a Hope X-type and able to gently remove each plastic cap and scrub the bearings and re-grease. Is this possible with the cheaper Shimano Tiagra bb? Thought it worth an ask before I attempt it...

Yes it's possible (last few Tiagra HTII BBs I bought were £3 from Rosebikes)
<EDIT> just checked and they've DOUBLED in price 😯

officially no, unofficially yes. Tap the plastic "top hats" out from the inside (you can try prize them off from the outside but they are likely to crack), pop off seals, flush with degreaser, regrease, replace seals, replace top hats. You might find warming top hats in hot water makes them more flexible and easier to get back in without cracking.
