Anybody got a good cheap alternative to the £1.99 rubber bleed cap for shimano brakes?

I'm getting through about 1-2 a week of these stupid things, must be getting pinged off by vegetation.

Not exactly the end of the world losing them, but getting dust in the calliper is a PITA, plus I think I have some kind of OCD thing about parts not being complete.

the bleed nipples are the same size as the ones fitted to the back of VW polos and Golfs with drum brakes on the rear. You could use the covers off one of those, but they are a fair bit bulkier.

Just wipe the nipple before bleeding. No dust cap required

I'd want to plug it with something, otherwise when it's wet the nipple can get filled up with mud, PITA to get it clean again.

£1.99 is taking the pss. I've just had to shell out £9 on olives for my SLX brakes. £6 for each end, followed by another £3 as I'd forgotten to get the rubber shroud in place (doh). Don't think I've spent that much money on that little metal without it coming in a box from the jewellers and being followed by a shag!
