I've some (prob) 08 pike air u-turns, which I love!
I've serviced them once myself, but feel they (and my rear shock) could benefit from being sent away somewhere for a professional tinker!
I'd also toyed with the idea of PUSH upgrade (£90) or perhaps adding a newer blackbox damping 'bit' into the leg.

Any thoughts on this? And what sort of price is the blackbox unit, and where is best to get that from? If it's too expensive, I may just treat myself to the PUSH....

Cheers,

DrP

I asked this on another thread rececntly. It seems the Blackbox unit is about £70, which would be worth it _IF_ it fits older models of fork..... I'd give LoCo or TFT a ring and ask personally.

Are you sure it's blackbox you mean? The equivalent to the Push upgrade is the Dual Flow rebound damper assembly.

I'd definitely recommend a BB upgrade, if you love the fork this will only help you appreciate it more.

Dual Flow rebound damper assembly is the blackbox damper, or has always been referred to as the BB damper. Well Loco knew what I meant when I priced up a replacement for some of my forks (too skint now)

I don't think it is.

The Dual Flow rebound is just the new rebound system for RS. My Revs have it, and it's better than the old system for sure. Blackbox, AFAIK, is the compression cartridge that goes in the top.... Although there may be other rebound tweaks too I suppose.

Oh right, I thought blackbox meant the whole lot (ti spring comp damper *and* DF rebound damper) where as the equivalent performance change comes specifically from the DF rebound damper (which I thought was available separately).

Anyhow, I've gone from a Push'd Pike to a DualFlow Rev, and they feel very similar - really good basically.

I don't pretend to fully understand what bit is what (I thought I did but a thread here changed that), but can definitely confirm the experts (or Loco at least did) will know WTF your talking about when you ask 😉 ... I'll try to locate the thread about doing it DIY, where I got the impression it was the Dual flow damper.

This thread start off asking the difference, Loco says Moco & Rebound assmebly, but @ the bottom the DIY-er further on only talks about the rebound assembly... If you needed to do both the Moco and damper it wouldn't be worth it.

It's the dual flow rebound and titanium compression

Either one will be an improvement. Iirc TF tuned don't offer the PUSH tuning on Blackbox forks because the PUSH kit doesn't improve on it...I don't know if this means the Blackbox is better or not?
With the fork being an '08, I'd probably go for the cheapest.
