Building up my new bike and am struggling to know where to position the front mech. The instructions say line it up with the big ring but I don't have one - is there another easy way?

Line it up so it clears your middle/outer/biggest ring and set the limit screw so it doesn't foul the bash guard

Treat the bash as the outer and line it up with that to be 2 mm above it - use a 2 p piece to do this.
Adjust limit screws as required
