Hi, my trusty On-One SS wheels need new bearings. I just pulled the caps off to find they're S&S 6000-2RS which seem quite common from a quick interweb search. Where do you all buy these things from? Any hints, tips, recommendations?

ta, al.

there'll be a shop near you that sells bearings - BSL Brammer have places in many towns, I get mine from the one in stockport.

Whereabouts is it? I need new (loose) bearings for an old square taper BB.

Reddish, just behind Halfords and McDonalds

You get what you pay for. SKF are about £8 a pop @ Brammer. I bought a pack of 10 off EBay for £9 delivered. They lasted about about 6 weeks then collapsed, Had to buy a new axle and freehub as the inner race was stuck on the axle and the outer race stuck in the freehub.

nbt: uh-oh. Did I just buy a load of kak? They are called "Budget brand" so I suppose I did. Well, 1st sign of roughness & I'll ditch them.

But how often are you replacing? I've run these wheels fairly hard and with no maintenance (aka cleaning) for at least 4 years on the same bearings.

Cheers, al.

You need SKF for quality

I am lucky cause I used to work with my local BSL store manager(= cost price) and it is only round the corner from home
