I put conti nordic spikes on my Croix de Fer at the weekend as I was fed up with riding in the garage...
I assumed I'd need tubes (installed on 20Five rims) however I got some really reassuring pops as the bead seated up against the rim. This got me wondering if I'd get away with running them tubeless, obviously I'd need a healthy amount of sealant to seal the tyre.
Any thoughts, advice, anecdotes on here?
Obviously there's only one way to find out (no not fight), but my workshop time is pretty limited at the moment!
Oooh, googled and found this not very old thread, perhaps that's a no then!
People will tell you that you will die and perish, but my personal experience is go for that.
Managed with absolute perfect success to set up wired Schwalbe Durano on non tubeless rim.
So you should have much, much better chance as your tyre is wider than 28c.
Some of my recordings of how it went. Sorry for the language, but attached photos should be pretty self explanatory.

Agree. Nothing to be lost. Might result in a spectacular sealant shower if the bead pops off during initial inflation, but I've not had that happen yet. Successfully tubeless'd lots of non-tubeless tyres – it’s been the single most useful improvement on my commuter where previously thorn-induced punctures were common. Currently using Clement Xplor MSO wired 700x50 and piece of piss to set up tubeless, lose 2-3psi over a typical week of use.
Got this quandary on my new Marin DSX. Marin apparently say that the rims are not tubeless compatible and neither are the Riddler tyres, but I'm thinking of just giving it a go. I only run the tyres at 40psi any way so I'm not running super high roadie pressures - I've done it previously on MTB tyres and rims without a problem so can't see too much of an issue this time
