RnR gold is in stock. Seems to work as well for me as the extreme stuff for year round road and off road.

I ordered some Rock n Roll extreme from Tweeks on 10th Sept as it was showing as in stock.
It still hadn't arrived yesterday so I emailed them. Turns out it wasn't in stock when I ordered and they're expecting delivery on 13th Oct 🙄

Spoke to the importer at the cycle show today. There was a 1 month delay as the labelling was being changed (now non flammable) then disaster hit in Houston with the recent storms and flooding. There are 2000 bottles of extreme lube in Houston port that are paid for by the uk distributor, but are stuck until the storm devestation clears up enough to get the stock to the uk. There was genuinely 1 bottle on the stand for display only, and not for sale! Sounds like it’ll be here in a few months......

If you look on ebay, i ordered from the Australian seller on there. Post was less than £5 and it was here air mail in less than a week! Awesome 🙂

I think I have a 1/3 of a big dispensing bottle (The one you refill small bottles from) left. It’s free to anyone in North Birmingham who wants it.

I did order some from Oz too. With the gift of some from here plus what’s in the way I’ll hopefully have enough for the supplier to get it back in stock.

If anyone is really desperate, the the ‘Holy Cow’ lube is reportedly as good as the extreme stuff.

Thread bump.
The stuff has arrived from Oz, but a card through the door says I have got fees to pay 🙄
Not a bargain then!

I find the White Lightning Epic Ride (the green one) a good all round all weather performer. The purple stuff is better when it’s seriously damp and mucky.

Agree with jsync on the MucOff. I ran the C3 wet for a winter with my normal chain care routine and the filth at the end was unbelievable. The very dirtiest chain lube I’ve ever used, and if it’s that dirty it more or less has to be picking up grit which isn’t good in the Peaks.

I think it's hit or miss on your postie, mine has changed to someone we know well and now don't get charged

Does your postie decide who gets charged or not?! 😀
Would have thought it was higher up the chain that made those decisions?

For those that want to know, with fees it came to a tad under £33.

FYI, I'm a postie and surcharges are not decided by us. The cards are dished out by the office for delivery by us. Sometimes the parcel will come through the system without being surcharged, if that happens it's rare that we will point it out to management and will just deliver to the customer coz we are awesome like that!

I've got a bottle of rnr extreme I picked up last year that should see me through this season , but I can't remember where I bought it now, somewhere online uk shop....through the drier month, I have been using scottoiler UBS and rate it highly. It doesn't last as wel as some, especially in the wet, but I usually take a small 2.5 oz bottle of it in my pack on longer or damper rides n top up if needed. The best bit about it is its water based so a bit of overspray on discs isn't a problem and also, a simple rinse with a garden hose and the drivechain is spotless!! Seriously the cleanest running lube I've used.

Got 4 bottles from RIbble the start of this year, as others have said it felt watered down to previous bottles,
RIbble are oos but have the dry and the gold in 4oz and 16oz

And totally agree about mucoff I stripped a bike to fit onto a different frame and the drivetrain was black, it took me two hours with half a can of bubblegum scented degreaser and a bucket of hot water to clean it
Then another hour to clean the bucket

stopped using it after about what seems 10 years on the stuff (especially in winter!), found the last few big bottles I had in the uk (recent) were very watery indeed, even more wasteful than usual and didn't seem to last anywhere near as long on a wintery wet day (6 months of the year)

I emailed the US to see if it was normal (which obvsiouly it wasn't in my eyes given ive used it so long), and the guy at the other end was a complete and utter absolute bellend, will never buy it again, the most arrogant, condescending piss kidney ive ever had the displeasure of speaking to

I'm now just on muc off wet lube, at 4 quid, it lasts, it keeps working, and if you use your brain when applying it, it is no dirtier/filthier than anything else at all

I cancelled my order with Tweeks at the beginning of this week. They'd taken my order (and money) when they didn't have stock and then said they would have stock by 13/10/17 and they didn't.

I've just had some Holy Cow, one dry commute this morning with a lovely quiet chain and a very wet gritty ride home with a noisy chain. I'm guessing it's a bit like squirt maybe.

I never thought much of RnR extreme. Wasteful application, messy, expensive, not that good in the filth, and not that easy to clean off for a decent re-lube.

I've tried loads of lubes of the years. And settled on three chains in rotation with a full degrease and soak.

I've done away with all that now, by using Wickens and Soderstrom. Don't bother with the expensive no.5. but try no.3 brilliant stuff.

It's the first lube Ive ever used that has measurably extended the wear life of my chains, and thus transmission.

Put some on my mates chain the other day, first time I've used it...very runny.

Got some of the no5. Not impressed . Very expensive and pisses everywhere but the chain.

If you're a squirt and spin guy, I can see how you could say that about any lower viscosity lube tbh.

No.5 is very expensive, and not as good in the clag as No.3.

My RnR ran out the other week and I cancelled my Tweeks order a while back. Have been using ProGold Prolink Extreme again and finding it very effective. Not as clean as the RnR but lasts all ride fine even when pretty wet and manky.

I've used all sorts over the last twenty years ..by far the best though is this ..
https://uk.knivesandtools.eu/en/pt/-ballistol-maintenance-oil-spray-200-ml.htm?gclid=Cj0KCQjwvabPBRD5ARIsAIwFXBkW9Lazm6AAVgMedgF-lNJeosxW9seUIHZq7ztzf30c_ch45WJ-HmoaAjgUEALw_wcB
Not actually bike specific which may put some of you off ..but it sheds mud & water better than anything I have previously used and has a multitude of uses ..
Those of you brave enough can thank me later ..

Scienceofficer, Lee of W&S confirmed
"Yeah No.3 is much better for winter use, No.5 is great but better as a race lube."
Top man! I will try the No.3 on your recomendation!

After serial disappointment with muc off ceramic, wet and dry lubes I fell into purple extreme, very clean lasts a whole week of the wet commute.

Just trying some Silkolene motorbike gel lube for winter....

My experience too, most of the bottle ended up on the floor. And it never lasted.

I use Muc Off ceramic these days, mostly as I get it for free, but find it actually works in the conditions I ride & seems to last well.

I'd probably buy it now, if I had to pay for lube. Probably the best I have used.

So the £33 I paid taking a punt on this stuff was a bargain then judging by some of the recent views 😀

Bought some of this last May after recommendations on STW and was never vastly impressed by it, so watery, and yes it made the drivetrain quieter but I was mystified by the fact you couldn't see it doing anything but after spending money I kept on plugging away with it. Ran out on Wednesday night and just ordered the 16oz bottle! I tended to save the RnR for my Bronson and use muc off wet lube on the hardtail, got sick to the back teeth of the hardtail drivetrain always being clogged up with cr@p but after realising it was the lube it was amazing what a difference the two have between each other. Get the Bronson home and the chain is pretty much sparkling. Clean it up, reapply before putting it away and I never rode along thinking how gritty and crappy it sounded. I did think about trying some other stuff when I realised it was in short supply but after reading around, I actually like how simple the RnR is to apply compared to some of the other 'dry' lubes.

Been using fenwicks wet while RnR was unavailable.
A good alternative.

The art of applying rnr extreme is to lather it on, then run the chain through a towel. This lifts off the dirt like a chain cleaner and leaves behind a really good lube in the required areas.

Yes you get through a lot of it, but that’s the idea as it cleans and lubes.
