A little help please:
My mate has been riding his orange 5 on the road in wales for the last couple of months and finding it very hard work, as you would expect. I offered to lend him my triban for a weekend to see whether he got the bug, he took me up on my offer and at the moment I'm left wondering if I will ever see my bike again 🙂
Fortunately, he has decided to buy his own but doesn't want a plain red triban, instead he wants similar but would like it to look more pleasing on the eye. I think he means a better paint job.
He is riding around the Barmouth area, he needs the granny for a couple of the climbs(the triple on mine is perfect he says), he doesn't expect to go much beyond 40 miles each ride, he is looking around the £500 or less mark and doesn't mind new or secondhand.
Any ideas/suggestions welcome.
They're not red anymore, tell him to get a triban 😉

I'm selling my Triban 500 SE medium 54 frame it's mainly grey with turquoise it was bought new in July last year it comes with matching bottle cage, black saddle bag and spare inner tube

Thanks for the comments and the offer of the triban 500, he has decided he would prefer new.
He likes the look of the ribble 7005 sportive.
We went in decathlon this morning and he threw his leg over the 500 + 520se, neither are the prettiest but he has gone for the 520.
Also kudos to the staff member in Decathlon Wednesbury - very helpful.

triabn 540 is good value on sale for £500, they got the cheaper ones for £300 also
