I went on the De Ronde experience thing with Geraint last week. I'm not a roadie by any stretch (as was highlighted by my lack of pace at times) but it was great fun. Geraint was a really nice bloke, clearly knows he is a decent biker but not an arrogant **** like some sportsmen can be. He had a good laugh with us and told us some good stories from the peloton.
Only issue is I am now looking at buying a new road bike to replace the cheapo Spesh Allez I took along. Do I need to get out on my proper bike to cure myself?

No, I've got an Allez winter bike, and it's absolutely horrible compared to even my 9 year old Trek Madone.

He's not that good, I overtook him while riding my mtb with full body armour. But as you say, he's a nice bloke. ๐
