Morning all,

Any recommendations for a powdercoater in Surrey? Preferably in easy distance of Woking.

Cheers all,

Paul

Try allsigns in Brookwood. Hes usually very good on price. He can also print graphics. Theres also a guy in Ash who wants to do more bike frames. I think its called aurora powder coating.

There's Crystal Finishers in ALdershot. I used them twice some years ago and they were very good. I think they do a fair few bike/motorbike frames.

after a powder coat how do you put your decals on?

Im about to find out. I just made some custom graphics for a friends lemond. The powder coater has asked me to fit the graphics pre laquer. He doesnt want to fit the decals himself, as hes a powder coater, not a sign/ vinyl fitter. Roy at allsigns would be the best guy to ask, as he could create your graphics and install them, as well as doing the powder coat. If you get printed vinyl graphics fitted post laquer, make sure you get the vinyl gloss laminated, or the first time you mucoff your frame, it will take all the ink off.
I would ask to see some previous work, preferably in the flesh, before comitting to order. If its not coated well, it can take on a texture similar to orange peel.
It'll proabaly be down to you to block off the bottom bracket shell and any other threaded bosses, or youll get paint in the threads.
