We ar visiting our daughter for a few days next month in Jersey, I am going to sneak off for a days biking while we're there and would like a heads up on the best routes and what type of bike would be most suitable as I am planning on hiring a bike when we are there.

Cheers.

Brother lives over there, its better for road riding in IMO, think there are some MTB trails and of course you can ride around the headlands.

Motorists over there are much more tolerant of cyclists and loads of nice lanes to cycle round.

Did a 100k sportive there a couple of years back and it pretty much covered most of the place.

Fat bike would be great, but I doubt you'll be able to hire one over there

It's surprisingly good there for road riding, with plenty of climbing and some great views. If you're just doing one day's riding, the most obvious choice is around the coast. It'll take you roughly 50 miles around the whole island, depending on how many bays you drop down into to.

South of the Island is busiest with traffic, but completely avoidable with cycle paths and some back lanes available. On the whole, drivers in Jersey are the most courteous I've ever encountered.
