Hi all,
I've recently moved to Pentre in the Rhondda Valleys.
Started MTB 4 years ago. Used to live near Newport and ride twice weekly all year round in Wentwood forest. Regularly going to FoD and occasionally BPW. Done quite a bit of night riding and my weekly rides were approx. 12-20 mile loops.
I'm not a downhiller or freerider. I'm more suited for general XC/trail rides
I've done the Wentwood 50 twice, the Brecon Beast once, the Wild Boar once and the full Taff trail. I moved early last year and not put a ride in for 15 months or so now so really need to get back into the saddle as I've lost all fitness and would have to start from the bottom now after all of that hard work.
Living up here is perfect. There are loads of mountains ready to be explored, but I'd really like to get a regular ride with one or more people as the group/partner riding is what I really miss the most.
(I'm back to novice level again both fitness and skill) I'll be going to explore on my own either way so may see some of you locals out there. I can't resist this MTB haven any longer!

Well you're in the right place.ย I'm not far away but I can't offer regular riding unfortunately!
Merthyr Mtb
Gethin Mtb
Aberdare Mtb
They're all clubs on Facebook with regular rides.
Thanks guys. I will check those out definitely. Never used a bike club before either
www.mtbpigs.co.uk in Swansea. We have a Thursday night ride locally every week, weather notwithstanding! Plenty of other rides and trips around the country as well.
