So just got in, reverb is back from being repaired with a blown seal, however it now has 2 4" long scores on the stanchion which absolutely catagorically were not there when I sent it off. It's had 5 dry rides....
I will obviously phone merlin in the morning to see what they say and if they can help, but the problem is I have zero proof these marks were not there.
I am really really not happy. It cost me £15 to send the thing off for repairs last month, and then to have it returned in damaged condition is just not cricket.
Anyone else had this? All I can think is that they have sent me a different post...
All I can think is that they have sent me a different post...
that was my first thought. With the amount of problems they seem to be having it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if they were just swapping them over all the time. Do they have serial numbers?
Best from now on to photograph any identifiable marks and the condition of the post and perhaps use some kind of mark of your own!
yikes.
See what they have to say, I guess it will have gone back to Fishers?
Always get pictures before you send things away.
Yes went back to Fishers via Merlin. I took no photos, and didn't note down the serial number. I did however pay for insured postage in case it went missing. Never occured to me something like this could happen.
The serial number on the post matches that on the box, which were both sent off together. Maybe the manual (which I didn't send) has the serial number.
If it is the same post someone has put it back together hamfisted and caused the damage, which they must have known about at the time.
The packaging was not damaged (as far as I can tell) so unlikely to be scratched in transit
Good news is Fishers replaced the stanchion without any trouble, Jackie at their tech centre was very helpful. Lets hope the seals last this time....and I'll take photos before I post things next time!
