[Closed] replacing on-one hub bearings

I'm trying to remove the old bearings: once I've taken off the outer caps off, do I just "tap" the axle with a mallet? I've tried tapping from drive and non-drive side and the axle hasn't moved so far. Before I move from tap to whack, I wondered if there was something unusual about the hub - for example needing to unscrew the axle?

thanks

Hi Brant, it's the rear Inbred singlespeed hub that was on my 2005 Inbred.
