Enjoy your pretty but creaky stem.

Are they creaky then, even if torqued up correctly?
Thats disappointing, have wanted one for a while and it's supposed to be my next purchase
Alternatives?

I use a Duo and I do hear the odd creak, not enough to put me off, get one, they look mint with a Fatbar!

Renthal sent me out a whole set of bolts FoC a few weeks ago when I emailed to ask the bolt size as had lost one, complete with stickers and instructions of how to fit properly which should avoid creaking (need to grease bolts when assembling). Top company.

Had mine ages, pretty well when they came out, read something about greasing all the bolts when you fit it, which I did. Never creaked ๐Ÿ™‚

I've had mine for two seasons. Looks great with the fat bar and no creaking!

I've stopped riding because my stem creaks so much.

I've got a Thomson stem that has always creaked so I don't think this is exclusive to Renthals.

Mine creaked badly from new, all torqued properly with appropriate grease too. I was pretty hacked off to discover this was a known issue with the duo.

I'd stick with an X4, can't go wrong with a Thomson! ๐Ÿ™‚
