Not really seeing anything coming from the course yet (yes it might be still a little early, but I want content god damn it!).

One video of the evolution isn't enough, so what have you spotted out there from the riders or organisers?

What has changed? Anything new?

I haven't been able to find much either.
I have been to every one (except the first) and unfortunately for me the appeal has worn off. I cba to go this year as if you have seen it once then it then you have seen it all. The jumps have evolved but its nothing like the shock of seeing it for the first time.
I definitely recommend it if you haven't been though.

From what I've seen on social media, it looks like the racers are having the most epic post-season p#ss up in Wales during all the rain delays. It looks brilliant!

Matt Jones didn't rise the qualifier in the end, which is probably for the best since he showed up on a trail bike.

Not sure what else he would've turned up with to be fair. No reason he'd have a DH bike and Marin don't make one.
Was good to get a non dh rider perspective from him and the respect was evident for the other guys.

Looks like Rachael will have a career after racing, quite enjoyed her quali rider insights.

Yeah, I think she did a pretty good job.

Interesting conversation between her and Rob about women doing the course. Notice Rach did put herself forward!

Is there no qualifier replay, the red bull app is horrendous to navigate.

I'm watching it on Red Bull. Search Hardline and then dig around... It's so badly organised. Easiest thing is to favourite it then it's quicker to find.

Absolutely brilliant coverage.
And of course amazing skills out there. The YouTube Live was perfect and Rach was showing off her commentary chops.
3 amazing weekends of racing on the trot.
Roll on Rampage and then the Urban DH events Over the winter and then 2020.
Darn, I love MTB.

Indeed the number of camera angles they have covering the course was absolutely excellent.

As for the riding, well that's just incomprehensible really isn't it... The level these guys are at.... I dunno, madness.

Yep, even the "easier" bits of that course would have most of us baulking

I think I could have possibly ridden three of the berms and that section in the trees. At about 1/4 of the speed.

Great coverage and mind-blowing riding. That bit in the woods where the riders jumped a rock and landed an inch away from another rock, before absolutely nailing the turn. Fantastic.

I was torn between 'brilliant' and 'concussed'...

The coverage was ace though and Rach was brill as a pundit 🙂

Yeah, I don't think the coverage does some of it justice. This is what looked on video like a smallish drop

I think I must have been listening to a different commentary.

I thought she did well. There's only so much you can say about a three-minute DH run: yes, he's going to go as fast as possible and try not to fall off.

Commentary was fine. Especially as first time doing it. Some funny stuff in there too and very natural. Better than a lot of the big bucks cmomentators imo

before sending it out of sight over a hip jump so massive it needed planning permission.

I love the idea that Dan on discovery of needing planning permission for a jump thought "Have I gone too far...? nah"

They did have to take a couple of feet off the top of that take off - it was sending them too high and they were landing too flat according to Kaos Seagrave.

technically you need planning permission for any jump thats considered 'permanent' whether its 2 foot tall or 20. There's no min size to be considered earthworks, and all earthworks that are outside of the curtilage of a property are subject to planning permission (and some inside too).

I liked Rach's commentary too. I thought she and Warner worked well together, and she added some good insight, as well as a fair bit of humour.

Qualifying commentary was better than the finals to a degree. They perhaps inevitably ended up saying quite a lot of the same stuff over again, and as a result the finals ended up sounding a bit less flowing and spontaneous.

Anyway, jolly good show.

She quite clearly needs to grow a stupid moustache to be in with the kids 👨‍🦰

Think it was a really tough event for a first try at punditry, there was a lot of time to fill in the gaps between riders, so she did end up saying some fairly banal stuff, but I'd love to hear more of her insight for a WC DH race. She knows the tracks, the riders, and how to win.

I went to watch for the first time, it's awesome, the gaps are crazy. That rock drop that does not look like much after the road gap is horrid. No run in to speak off and so much higher than it looks on telly, well worth a trip if you have not been. Riders were great with the kids as well.

I really enjoyed it.

As already mentioned, amazing course, insane riding, great event.

But its a no from me with regards to Rachael. She was ok at first, but then just kept repeating the same thing over and over again. Love Rob Warner tho.

And pleased to see Bernard Kerr win!
