I'm looking for some body armour recommendations for someone who is on the larger end of the scale. I'm 6'3 and 17 stone, although this is dropping.
I've been looking through the reviews for different products and a lot of them say that they come up fairly small, so worried that even the XXL will come up too small . My other concern is how cooling they are as I get hot and sweaty just looking at a big hill, although I used to play Ice/Roller Hockey so used to wearing full body armour.
I like the different D3O/VPD/3DF type armours that harden on impact as I have knee pads with this in and it worked well.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
If you're going to do it, do it right!

But he's not a larger gent, ha ha
I've an L 661 pressure suit, I'm 6ft and occasionally upto 16st, it's still massive. I have all the adjusters tight.
I wouldn't get one for all day riding, strictly uplift only. And put plasters on your nipples if you're out for a couple of days on holliday!
And.................. I broke my arm wearing body armour and a full face helmet. It just makes you feel invincible when the reality is it only saves you from a few specific injuries like direct impacts onto your shoulder or elbow that would chip the ends off bones, and cosmetic stuff. Riding at 95% and not crashing as often probably protects more than going 100% and dressing like a storm trooper.
Thanks for the assistance TINAS, that's good to hear that it doesn't come up too small on you, they are less than £90 on CRC at the moment so I've ordered one, if it doesn't fit I can always send back.
I'm fully aware that it won't stop all injuries, but hoping it will stop some if I have a crash.
Knox.
Better impact ratings than the rest of the stuff you mentioned, and it stays soft when cold. I have a knox urbane and find that the perforated material is really cool for a compression jacket. They do lighter models as well, but those don't come with a level 2 back protector - however you can always upgrade the others inserts to level 2 as you can buy all the inserts aftermarket and customise the level of protection and weight.
Make sure you get a microlock model.
Plus, the knox conforms really well to your body, so you hardly see it - and if you're wearing a perforated moto style top and no chest protector, you'll feel the wind in your nipples - so you won't get that invincible feeling. The feeling of invincibility comes when you can't feel the wind, rain coats do it to me as well.
