maybe a bit of touring.
Must be black with some sort of visibility option needs to be waterproof easy to take off and put on and not silly money.

caradice carradry
i do like carradice kit 🙂
look at altura orkneys also
just dinny go buying non waterproof panniers if you intend to tour. fannying about with drybags and bin bags is all very well for a couple of days but the ability to chuck your shit in your bag and know it will be dry at the other end makes your day so much easier and quicker packing in the rain 😀
our orkneys have been round nz , down austrailian sunshine coast and all round scotland + commuting since 08
TJ good shout like the British made tag!
They ae not as good as the ortleibs but are much cheaper. Huge panniers as well - bigger than ortleib
Mmmm out of stock!!

when i said i like carradice i meant i like their duck cotton stuff .... i have a longflap camper that i use for commuting these days - only take panniers when i need to do the shopping
look at the superCs rich - advantages are they can be repaired easy - i had a few old customers that had had their superCs since they were in their 20s - some are in their 60s/70s now. Few of the audaxers i know have duck cotton rear bags for years.
can vouch for the campers waterproofness for sure !
altura drylines
done us very well. borrow a pair and see how you get on if you want, we've got 8 of them.
swaying towards the ortleibs after reading reviews!
Thanks for the offer Mike!
you wont go wrong with em rich thats for sure .... i didnt buy them as i had access to the alturas at very good price - not been disapointed
altura drylines here as well, done me proud for a few tours and commuting, better value than the ortliebs and do the job well
I have some 4-year old Drylines that have been great - but are now wearing away on the back where they touch the rack. Just bought some Ortlieb Bikepackers to replace them.
