Entered the Sudety MTB Challenge, 6 day race, looks like 5-6 hours a day. Am quite new to MTB racing, took it up last year after a bad motorbike accident left me unable to fell run (or even run at all).
Looking for a bit of advice on what kit to take, tyres to run, nutrition etc from anyone who has done this type of race. For info, I have a FS 29er and was thinking of running a combination of Racing Ralphs and Rocket Rons.
Am used to fuelling myself in long running/adventure races but not competed in a stage race before. Not looking to be at the sharp end by any stretch of the imagination but would like to aim for getting into the top half of the 45+ category.
Am reasonably competent looking after the bike so should be able to mend simple things on the fly, was thinking about taking spare mech hangers, spokes, bolts etc.
Any advice greatly appreciated.
