XT 2-pot brakes for £96 an end on Biketart's ebay shop with discount code - ends today though (3rd March). I'm very tempted to replace the codes on my new GT Sensor but the prospect of routing brake hoses internally is putting me off.

Hope's original DH brake was a 2 pot, the Moto V2. and their trial brakes have always been the same both with 2x26mm pistons.

Strangely enough the their first hydraulic the C2, also was a 2x26mm and that was and is a good powerful brake.

*At the time.

I've got c2s on a bike in the garage. Whilst they kicked the poop out of everything else available at the time, I can assure you that compared to anything from recent history, 'Good' and 'powerful' are a little open to interpretation.

That interpretation would also be dynamically open to interpretation, depending on whether at the start or end of the run, and how many times you'd had to adjust the fluid cap....

SDG Tellis droppers on Merlin for £99. Meant to be good (for the price, a good alternative to the Ascend ones?). That said, the anodising wore off my old (used) one and I threw it in the bin. Worth a punt though maybe...

Forgot to post a pic of the Raleigh Trace e-bike I bought for my mate,  it was highlighted as a PSA on here back in late January.

Excellent bike for £1000, she’s very chuffed with it and it has the Mahle X35+ ANT hub, I have since bought/fitted the https://mahle-smartbike.com/pulsar-one/ that allows control over lights/power levels rather than attempting to press the top tube button on the bike.

Also fitted a removable https://www.tredz.co.uk/.Topeak-Urban-Basket-Front-with-Fixer-9_274974.htm to the front, the basket is pretty poor as the paint is flaking off and whilst the new Topeak fixer 9 quick click handlebar mount is easy to fit, there is an issue with the plastic removal tab as it is very hard to operate- not up to the usual Topeak standard in the slightest, but it’s fitted and I can’t be bothered to return and hunt for another suitable replacement

"Merlin have Float X2 performance 205 x 60 trunnion for £150 atm"

So I ordered one of these for my (new) Sentinel v3.. immediately got in touch with Fox UK about it and sent it off to them (straight out the box, never fitted) and they warrantied it for a MY24/25 Factory X2....

Not bad for £150!

@somafunk - nice stem cap and bike looks a bargain.

As I’ll never have a bike to fit my ssuk 07 stem cap onto I figured it’d be better on Amanda’s bike, she’s very chuffed with both as well as the mint sauce sticker 🙂  you can just about see the top of mints head under the Raleigh trace power button, she loves reading mint and i bought her the mint sauce book published in 2024 for Xmas that year, she still uses my mint key-ring for her house keys (she stole it when we split up in 2003)

Shes also got the Buddha pose of mint sauce tattooed on her arse cheek, It’s best for my health if I don’t post that pic 😆

These organiser storage boxes are almost half price at Screwfix at the moment.

They're actually really nice, solid quality. I've now got six of them for all my screws, bolts, bike bits and that.

Quite a nice size these ones and they stack and clip together should you want to do that.

I got some of the Passion Pants, ooeerr Mrs.

Have you had these before and how do they size?

Or if anyone has had their trousers / shorts as they all seem to have the same sizing table.

The size guide suggests they run small (29" for a medium?) but reviews aren't clear.

The only review I could find was an MBR one that suggested they're quite a close fit but large around the waist. That's the pants rather than the shorts, but I'm guessing they might be similar.

I've just got the Lupra 2.0 jacket in large and could probably have got away with a medium. Tempted by the shorts as well now. I'm gonna be like a walking Gore advert.

I go between a 30" and 32" waist and the medium trousers are a good fit.   about 5'9" and the legs are quite long but slim, so you could get away with them if you're nearer 6'.

Thanks, I'm a 31 waist but struggle with slim fit stuff in the seat / thigh. A medium sounds ok waist wise but now a bit concerned they'll be too tight elsewhere.

Edit: Well looks like the shorts have suddenly turned to out of stock across the board. I should have been quicker!

I think I've been using them for about 25 years... why would you want the hassle of washing and drying a whole sleeping bag versus a liner?

Gorewear have found some more sizes for the lupra 2.0 LE3 gore-tex jacket down the back of a sofa in black or grey colours for £164.

Don't forget to add code WHATEVERSAHEAD30 for an additional 30% off making these jackets £115.

Make sure you get the right size as they are closing at the end of March so may be too late to send back for a refund.

Yeah I noticed the code had stopped working too. Didn't realise it was linked to email address.

You can also get a 25% code if you sign up for one via the site.

Consequently I've now bought 2 lupra jackets 🤯. One for lunchtime walks in the rain from work office and one for home.

How do these Lupra jackets size up in the real world?

I have a couple of bits of Gore clothing that I suspect was from their road lineup and as such is cut in a way that I need an **cough** XXL **cough** but I would realistically say I was an XL.

Looking at the sizing chart I'm probably an XL in the Lupra but are they cut to go over a jersey etc.

All help much appreciated 🙂

They come up just a touch small I'd say.. it's not a roadie fit XL just a very slightly slimly cut XL

I'm 6'3" 93kg and an XL is spot on.

Impetric is fine with me 🤣

I'm the same hight as you but 10kg heavier 😏

Hmm

Looking at the step up to an XXL would suggest a sailesque fit.

Yeah possibly a teeny bit on the small side. I sized up to a large, could probably have got away with a medium but the body is cut quite short so I'm happy.

Worth bearing in mind the hood isn't great for walking around, they're definitely cut for a helmet.

I too am beginning to look like a Gore billboard. I have had a Spirit for a couple of years which is my most worn jacket, a roadie one, Spin something, I think and I have just bought the Lupra. I have also got a thirty year old one that still gets worn occasionally. Incidentally my Lupra purchase worked fine with the code five minutes ago so it probably is an email issue
