Is Polaris a planet X brand now?

I used to really like Polaris kit, but I think their quality has gone down quite a lot in the last 2 years. A jacket I bought a year ago has started to fall apart, after only occasional cold weather use, the zip has failed twice, one of the pockets has got ripped stitches and the cuff stitching is coming apart.
A pair of their shorts also disintegrated last summer, I used to really like their shorts, but went to Decthlon last time.

On the other hand I bought a Polaris road top and some knee warmers in their sale a couple of years ago, and they look as good as new after many washes.
The top especially is a really nice fit.
I bought a windproof, soft-shell jacket at the same time, and that gets used mostly for colder MTB rides.
That's held up very well too to repeated washes and brushes with gorse, etc.
It is starting to show some wear now, but I'd say it has at least another season or twos life in it.

Not really "on the other hand" if poster suggests quality has gone down in last two years and you counter that with telling us about clothes you bought from them two years ago.

Those gilets are good kit though. We have a couple of the adult ones and a kids on here. Toying with getting one myself as I’m the only member of this family without one.

I've only just started using them, and have a number of piece of these kit around the two years old mark, and holding up well. I'm more annoyed they only seem to stock some kit for a limited amount of time. Got some waterproof shorts from them, that are great, never to be seen on their website again.. and replaced by less waterproof options

Polaris stuff lasts well.
I just burned 60 quid on there today on gloves etc and I'm sure they will be the usual great vfm.

Ok fair pint, I was just countering that I've had no issues with their stuff over the last few years.
Road kit 2 years ago, jacket thinking about it was actually more recent, maybe 18mths, and some bib shorts a year ago too, which have been fine.

I've actually had cars stop me whilst wearing my RBS jacket to tell me they'd seen me from miles down the road.

Weird sizing though, L is tight and very short at the front. XL is massively baggy on me. Still find it a bit short at the front.

The waterproof version I've got fits much better. Bit heavy, but great for winter commute... When commuting was a thing
