Hi all, just bought the above in SRAM direct mount flavour for my XO cranks.

I can't work out where I should be putting the 'flats' on the ring. I'm thinking flat should be at the top when my cranks are horizontal.

Any info appreciated!

Cheers

No idea about the sram one but the shimano one has a little raised "tooth" on the inside of the ring that lines up with the crank arm

Highest effective ratio during the highest power part of your stroke.

I am not sure if I have a choice Buccaneer. I'm just about to get out and have a go at fitting now.

I just wanted as much info as possible before I started!

The video is very helpful- cheers all

Hope it's gone well. I think your direct mount ring is held on the crank by three bolts but they are not evenly spaced so you can only fit the ring in one position.

They will only go one way because of bolt positions

Ideal. Thanks for the info. I hadn't considered the fact it would only fit one way- I'm new to DM. Always had 4 or 5 arm cranks!

Thanks for asking the same question I've been pondering since receiving my oval ring unexpectedly on Saturday, I thought they weren't due for shipping until early Jan!

I fitted mine yesterday.. Was mentally tight and hard to get on... Had to persuade it with a rubber mallet in the end...

I was told early Jan too. Then my pal above got his this morning (even though I ordered first!) then last night the postie bangs it in the door at 7pm.

Fitted earlier- only goes on one way. Looks cool!

Mine went on easy Carl!

I'm toying with the idea of one. Any good? Is there a noticeable difference from a circular ring?
