Hello people sorry my first post on here is under such s*** circumstances but last sunday morning in between 12 and four some skally nicked my week old 2013 clockwork orange from my house, I hadn't got it insured yet and got it on a cycle to work scheme so if its not recovered I'm screwed. The only distinguishable thing apart from it being a 29r is that it has DMR v8s on it and a white chain stay guard. Any info/help would be greatly appreciated. It was stolen from Chervil Close in Fallowfield.

****ats. Sorry to hear that mate, my house was burgled a couple of weeks ago and they took three bikes, seems to have been a spate of these in Manchester lately.
Pay regular visits to the local pawn shops, Cash Convertors etc. Keep an eye on the classifieds in Pink Bike, eBay, Gumtree.
http://www.findthatbike.co.uk/ - lists all new bikes advertised for sale on Gumtree and eBay. Set up saved eBay searches on your phone if you've got the app or get someone else to.
I'll keep my eyes peeled for you.
Thanks, all good tips. I work in cycle surgery so I've messaged around loads of shops to keep their eye open. Its so crap when someone who props wont even use probably jacks your ride. Sorry to here about the same happening to you. I think thief gangs know because the weathers warmer everyone is getting on their bikes.
sorry to hear that...will keep a look out in the city centre and north manchester...
keep a lookout for it on places like gumtree, pinkbike and ebay
Really sorry to hear that. Like most people 've experienced that sinking feeling of realising your bikes been nicked. I'll keep my eyes peeled in North Manchester.
There seems to be an awful lot of bikes going missing from South Manchester/Stockport at the moment. this thread from a couple of days ago would suggest its an organised, targetted thing
Have you let Rob at Withington cycles know? I've seen all sorts hanging about outside there.

the ringleaders seem to be based around stockport...but they have a network of like minded scallies all over the manchester region...i wonder how long it will be before we hear of one of them getting caught in the act by a bike owner and is given a proper battering?
peeled in Stockport
thanks for the interest guys. I'm pretty sure it was one guy as they couldnt be arsed to take any of my other bikes. It makes you think though how organised these groups are. It was such a small time window they must have been watching my house, and the thefts seem very pinpointed which makes you think they are sussing out potential hits. I think I'll be investing in a bike tracker so if it ever happens again, you know exactley where it is and bring the rain on the f******.
Did they break into your house or was it taken from a garage?
I hadn't got it insured yet
Are you sure it's not covered on household insurance anyway? (Probably not, but worth checking rather than assuming)
Had my 3 month old Scandal nicked from my balcony on Friday. Had loads of good bits on it. It was my work bike too so now have to build another one quickly. Still can't get it out of my head, not sleeping too well. They moved 2 bikes out of the way to get to it.
Sorry to hear that OP.

Unfortunatley I've been staying with friends for two months while I find a new place. So I don't have a leg to stand on with regards to insurance. Anyhow appreciate everyone raising awareness and keeping their eyes peeled for it!
