I have some old marzocchi forks with 1 1/8 steerer and an FSA headset on an old cannondale frame. However, the top bearing of the headset will not slide down over the steerer tube - it is an extremely tight fit. The bottom bearing is fine! Has anybody else has this problem and is there a cure for it?

the bearing may be bent in which case you need a new bearing or worst case scenario...a new headset
