Unlike some folks I really like planet x service...but....
Why do they send me mails advertising stuff that when I go to buy it is never available or far more expensive. I appreciate their stock is constantly changing but I just got a mail about the dirty harry frame for 279 quid. Really excited, but then I click on the link at it say 'from 279 pounds'. Predictable the one in my size was still 500, but on further investigation, no available stock are available at this price.
I doubt they've all sold out within the last 5 min of me getting the mail..
rant over..
They probably schedule the emails over the weekend. So when they put it together they have stock but by the time the last people receive the email is gone.
Bait and Switch
Great name for a pub.

What size/colour were you after?
Emails are staggered across a few hours.
fair enough, I hadn't realised that.
I was potentially looking for one in carbon/grey black in a medium. If they come up again will they likely be at same price?

All email apps mail out alphabetically, sometimes within sub groups of the mailing list based on transaction worth, or other parameters.
Simply use the 'Yellow pages' email trick and set up an address like Aardvark@gmail or whatever to ensure you get an early mail. That way you stand the best chance of catching the deals. Works for Groupon and all those other deal sites as well.
It appears that the secret cash stash now has enough to get an Inbred 29er frame.....
God, I hate those emails ๐ฟ

There were only two of that size and colour in stock on Friday, so quite conceivable, at the bargain price, that they got snapped up when mailed out to many thousands of people.
Sorry.
