By researching I could get the conclusion that the sks bluemels mudguards seems like the best option. The one in 45mm version or even the 53mm if want to put larger tyres in the future .
Anyone tried any of these on the Pinnacle arkose?
Thanks for the inputs
Cheers
I’ve got 45mm sks chromoplastic guards on my arkose, there’s def space for larger ones. Don’t think I could fit much more than a 32-35c tyre under them (although the bluemels are a slightly different/wider shape which might change things).
Great Charlie.
Thanks for the input .I was wondering if the 53mm would really fit .. than I think I might go for it. Although the bluemels 45mm states it's up to 38mm .
@jameso - I tried by email and phone but they said they would not post one out, it has to be taken in. Sounds like I am best just buying a replacement hanger off the site.
My 2015 Arkose 4 has just developed a crack. Found by the bike shop today! Is it a 5 year warranty on the frame? If so worth following up with evans?

'Limited Lifetime' on the frame / Yes, certainly - let them take a look and they'll get back to us if needed
I've got 45mm WTB Riddlers on my Arkose. They run fine!
Just got together all the parts to build an Arkose Alfine frame at the weekend
Anyone know how tight to do up the pinch bolts on the eccentric bottom bracket?
Regarding mudguards for Arkose, I have these in 53mm

I am using them on Arkose 1 (2018) with Vittoria Terreno wet 40's, no issues. Don't think I'd get anything wider than that under them though
These are exactly the one I will take. What do you think about them? I thought the 53 might be too wide and look weird. It's not the case right. Thanks
I'm fitting 53 SKS Bluemels but the bolt to go through the crown for fitting the front guard isn't long enough, how did people fit the front guard? I have no hole in the underside of the crown as previously mentioned on older models, I'v a 2018
Cheers!
Hi Edua, yes the guards look good and perform very well.
Grantyboy-I had mine ordered into store and fitted by Evans to ensure best fit.
@grantyboy - had the same issue, evans sell a pinnacle branded bolt...or nip to a hardware store and get a 60mm+ version of the one that came with the guards.

Is this ok for wtb i19 rims for arkose 2 2018 ?
What about tape I was thinking about WTB TCS 24 MM but 24mm is out of stock maybe will found some where

Any valves and tapes recommendation?
Grantyboy ... I bought some 55mm m5 bolts off eBay ... cost less than £2.
thanks guys, thought it would be a longer bolt job. Off to B&Q
I bought this for my pinnacle arkose 2 2018 50 mm is to short .

M6 70 mm and fit perfectly , m5 would be a bit lighter and 65 mm would be perfect but 70mm is good too.
I think that one would be better if you have your own nuts.

Wulisa - buy Tesa 4289 tape off eBay, its the same stuff as you linked to above but miles cheaper.
Hey James, thanks for confirming. Dropped it into evans on Saturday so may be coming your way! So sad to see it go though, was one of the first 2015 arkose 4's and I've loved riding it! Hopefully there's a replacement available.
Has anyone put WTB Resolutes into a 2015 Arkose? My Nanos have given up the ghost so I’m thinking about replacing them with the Resolutes (assuming I can find some to buy!). They are 42mm so 2mm bigger than the stock Nanos,
I’ve not, but Nano 40s were about as close as you’d want to get to the fork on the sides. The 42s will fit but may be less mud room than you’d want with a tyre like that.
I have - thank you WTB for supporting the 2nd (and 3rd) Torino-Nice Rally.

Jameso is right, surprise surprise. They fit physically but really don't leave much room for mud clearance at the front. You could ride them when it's dry, but then you may as well ride something slicker and faster if it's not muddy. they'd be great on the later bikes with more clearance though.

A more useful angle. Forgive the scruffiness of bike. It's much loved but leads a tough life. This was the day I got back, and it got washed immediately after!
I have Arkose 1 2018. Really happy with the bike, using with a set of Alex CXD4 wheels with Maxxis Ramblers (tubeless) which makes the bike really nippy and saved weight.
The CXD4 have internal rim width of 19mm so min tyre size recommended is 28mm. I was contemplating getting another set of wheels purely for road use with 23 or 25mm tyres but in terms of geometry/bottom bracket drop etc would the Arkose run ok with these?
The Arkose 4 frame is getting replaced. Going from an XL to an L because that's all they have and actually the L will probably fit me better. It's also staying blue! Not sure if you've been involved in the process James but it's been buttery smooth! Hope to get the bike back soon!
Cleaned my arkose 3 2018 and discovered a crack in the rim from one of the rear spokes. Used a lot for commuting and bikepacking.
What rim / wheelset for a at worst 90kg rider plus say 10kg of stuff
Hi looking for advice, looking to get back into towpath and forestry track riding should I get a Arkose? Only ask as impulse bought a Pinnacle Pyrolite 1 one off Evans at midnight ex display for £630 which I thought was too good of a deal, I know Arkose have more options and better spec, but with my saving I could add SRAM 1x drivetrain to this, well that's my thinking or should I go for an Arkose?
I'm 6'3 34 inside leg and 16 stone so previous gravel bikes Inc GT grade tiagra carbon wasnt able to give enough protection from feedback through bars on mild gravel towpath.
Hello Jim, welcome to the forum. In sure a few of the more knowledgeable guys will be along soon to answer your question.
Alternatively start a new thread to catch people's eye.
Hi thanks, and cheers for the advice. I will leave it until lunch and failing that I'll start a new thread, as don't want first post to be a double one.
@sixpotbelly I've only just spotted your post, apologies for not responding sooner! Those shots are great, and have helpfully confirmed that buying and fitting a new Nano last week was a sensible call! 😛

I'd just use the Pyrolite for a while, see how you get on. In some ways I prefer it as an all-rounder to the Arkose, it's a bit nippier overall. It already has the 650Bs on that make the most difference off-road. Swap the Horizons for a Saguaro 2.0 or similar and head into the forest, it'll be fine. 1x ... up to you. I'm not won over by it but others love it.
@jameso
Thanks for the reply, I will take it out this weekend and thoroughly test it out I'm pretty certain I'll love it. Will take your advice on tyres. Would you setup tubeless? Also what gearing would you look at for upgrade or leave it as standard? Just after an idea what other than tyres are worthwhile upgrades as and when my wallet gets too heavy?!
For 650b and a bit more off-road bias have a look at the WTB Sendero. The other good thing about the Pyrolite is that you can run the cool Pinnacle porteur style rack. 🙂
@johnnystorm
Cheers for the advice, I will also have a look at the racks.

Just a follow-up, it arrived.
Few weeks since picking up a discounted 4 in late Decemeber. Really happy with it. Had to get a longer bolt to fit the guards through the head tube, other than that all good.
Hi James . Do you happen have any info on the international shipping? I placed my order on Jan 25th and they mentioned by first or second week of February they should be shipping bike international again. However I contacted them last week and no estimation so far 🙁
I'm going crazy waiting for it..I really want to ride this bike!
Thanks
@gratyboy @waldner
Hey guys so you happen to have pictures of the 53mm bluemels fitted to the arkose?
Many thanks
Eduea, which model? Will get some info. Thanks.
Hey folks!
Loving my '18 Arkose 4, but I find the headset endlessly works loose and is often creaking. This had been the case from new.
Any thoughts? My nearest Evans is quite a distance away now.
It’s arkose 2 2018.
Size, L?
Any thoughts?
Stem to steerer interface worth looking at, is it moving there? How are your spacers set up, is the bung still in the steerer at a point where the stem clamps?
Will Evans be doing the iroko as frame only this year ?
Sold through now sorry, apart from Arkose F'sets there's no plan to carry on with frames at the mo.
2018 size M Arkose 4: Yes the bung is where the same position where the stem clamps. I've removed and cleaned the bearings. Two spacers below stem, one above.
Will try again later and double check torque etc.
^ seems common that people go easy on the stem bolts with carbon steerers, that's no bad thing but worth checking the torque. The stems we use have good amount of surface area on the steerer.
