Hi Guys,

I have just moved house and have (unfortunately for me!) no garage or suitable storage space for my bike!!!

I do however have a small patio garden and I would like to find a small self contained bike box type thing to sling my wet muddy bike in after riding! does anyone know of anything that isn't super expensive or large in size? it will only need to house one bike, and needs to be as small as possible!

any help guys? a google search brings up some very vague websites!

thanks,
Pete

I've got one of the 4 bike Asgard sheds, and think it's excellent. Very sturdy, and will fit five at a push when bars get twisted and so on.

ouch! £500 is a little over my budget! I was thinking along the lines of £120-150! B&Q shed looks ok, but reviews say its flimsy, anyone had experience of it?

cheers,
Pete

A quick look here http://www.gardenbuildingsdirect.co.uk/Bike-Storage suggests that you either need to allow at least 500 quid to get something like peace of mind or go for sub £150 and a shed (LOL) load of additional work to make it something like secure. At least with a timber store you could easily start lining the interior with sheets of ply and beef up the hinges and locks on the door. You'd probably end up spending another £100 doing this.

Having said that if you can't afford £500 then no amount of forum taunting about "what is you bike worth to you" is going to do anything other than make you feel bad.

I'd just go for a flimsy shelter / shed to keep the worst of the weather off it and then invest in a mahoosive ground anchor and chain.

In the meantime pop into a bed shop & ask if they have a king size matress bag. When you get back pop the whole bike in the bag, pending a nice hot bath. (For the bike, not you).

I don't see the point in an expensive super dooper bike house. It's still going to be opened in seconds by thieves and it's like putting up a sign saying 'valuables to steal here' - with obvious results.

The cheap B&Q mini shed has 'stealth features', and can easily be beefed up. Use the money you've saved to get a beefier ground anchor, thicker chain and bike insurance for several years.
