Anyone got one able to tell me what hubs are used on the wheels please? Spec just says the rims are OC1 29 and no mention of hubs.
Less specifically if you have one how do you like it?
Both are fairly low end Shimano hubs. Rear is 12 x 148mm E-thru axle. Front is a Deore 15mm x 110mm E-THRU.
I bought one of these a few weeks back. I'm maybe not the best person to advise as I came from an elderly FS Stumpy on 26 wheels. However, I really, really like it. Geometry is excellent both up and down hill. It climbs with real poise - it's hard to describe. Traction is great with the right tyre pressure and as for descending, I found no real issues at Glentress red or on rocky Lakes descents. Not 'playful' as such but the limit very much remains the rider in my case. The only very minor issue I have is occasional heel rub on the chainstays due to the boost hub spacing. A shoe with a narrow heel rather than 5tens would solve this I reckon. Doing Jennride on it tomorrow with no concerns about it's suitability.
Great thanks, that’s a bit of a turn off, have quite a dislike of shimano hubs !
I've the 2020 H30 and have upgraded several bits since. Really like mine -Â thoughts and experiences of it here on my blog.
I have the feeling they are the semi secret sealed bearing Shimano hubs, heavy but at least they are sealed bearing, and a serviceable freehub body.
I've had a H-LTD for a year and love it. I've deliberately been riding my Intense this week because it's had so little use this year because of the Laufey. The only issue I've had is heel rub on the seat stays because the back end is so wide, and that's just scuffed paint so not really a problem.
It is a very quick bike, just a few seconds slower than the 150mm Intense over pretty much any trail. It has a longer wheelbase and is a bit harder to wok through a series of tight corners, but there's not much in it. I'd be happy if it was only bike. (But like having a spare!)
I haven't got those wheels - I upgraded to DT Swiss wheels.
I've just got one and it's brilliant. Admittedly I came to it from a knackered 10+ year old 26er, so it should be better! It's big but doesn't feel it once you're on it, it's dead easy to climb, and feels really smooth and capable downwards. I've immediately found myself riding harder and faster and up against what I can actually do instead of what it feels like the bike will let me do. How much of that's just progress in geometry and components in the last decade I don't know, but I'd recommend the bike either way!
