went to add more pressure to the rear shock as the back end was feeling vague and 'wobbly'. Put the pressure up from 140 to 165 and when I detached the value from the shock a load oil - enough to liberally coat my fingers.

Is it ****ed?

Can I still ride it?

I think my front has gone as well, Fox RL100's as this 'gassy' sound on big compression and there is a lot of oil on the stanchions

Hey. can you tell me if it's an epic or an enduro frame and where exactly isa the oil coming out of, when was the shock last serviced? I can teach you how to check the shock, if you want me to.

kaesae, the bike is an Epic.

The oil came out the valve when detaching the pump. I don't think it has been serviced for a couple of years. It has only been used a lot in the last 6 mths

Thanks

Let all the air out and compress the shock with your hands. The epic shock is nitrogen charged so it should always resist you compressing it. you want me to show you how to check it?

Oil coming out of the valve is normal however the oil should be blue and not have too much muck in it.

Can you do an air can service?

May just be float fluid (lube for the air can seals) however could be damper oil if large amount, in which case service time. I can't do Brains at present so mojo or tf.
You could check by taking the air can off to see if the shaft on the main shaft is leaking.
But you would want a little float fluid to put back in if your doing this.
