Why would you want the white logo ones?

Do yourself a favour and change both to the yellow ones 😉

Aren't all OEM tyres basically crap, or if they're conti ones significantly worse?

Just check eBay and hope something comes up really. I’ve ended up with a few white logo tyres from there. I’m happy to run mixed brands so I’m not picky enough to worry if I have a mixture of white / yellow logo maxxis 🤯

The last pair I ordered from Merlin were white.

Nope. They're the same tyre (Assuming the same spec on the sidewall).

not sure that was always the case though. First DHR2 I had was so bad it put me off trying them again for years, felt like it was made out of plastic (no compound or casing hot patches)

Fair do, it's been a while since I had OEM tyres but way back when, I recall the only 2 things about them which were the same as the retail version were the tread pattern and the model name.

(That being said they didn't have anything else printed on them so I guess

(Assuming the same spec on the sidewall)

is key here - I sort of figured actual OEM ones don't say anything else and that when decent tyres are supplied on builds they're just retail versions.)

It was different because it's a different tyre to the ones you can buy aftermarket. I'm not saying you can't get a crappy OE tyre, Im saying if you buy a '3C Maxx Grip Exo+ TR' or whatever it is, then its a 3C Maxx Grip Exo+ TR whether OE or aftermarket.

I got a DHR 2 3c WT from Merlin a couple of weeks ago with the Maxxis in white.
Edit - it was a 27.5

That's not a low. Buying a yellow paint marker to colour the white 'Maxxis' on the rear tyre to match the yellow on the front one. That's a new low.

Like for like, they are identical, just different coloured logos.

I have a stash of OE 29” DHR2 MT DD, but they are for using, sorry. Your best bet has to be EBay I would have thought. Or get a paint pen, as the backs will always wear out a lot quicker than the fronts 😆

Merlin tend to ship OEM (white label) maxxis tyres.

Else, go down your LBS as sometime's they'll have tyre taken off bikes.
